Personalized, evaluation-first care

Chiropractic Care in Harleysville, PA

At Family Chiropractic of Lederach, chiropractic care begins with understanding what is affecting your movement, comfort, and daily life. Dr. Eric Pirrone uses your history and examination findings to recommend care that fits your needs and goals.

Understanding chiropractic care

What Is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a controlled force applied to a joint to improve motion and address restrictions identified during an examination. Adjustments are most commonly associated with the spine, but care may also involve other joints depending on your presentation.

The technique, position, and amount of force are selected for the individual. Not every patient receives the same adjustment, and an adjustment is not automatically recommended at every visit.

Our goal is to help you move more comfortably, understand what may be contributing to the problem, and build a plan that supports both short-term progress and longer-term function.

Why patients seek care

Problems We Commonly Evaluate

Similar symptoms can have different causes. An evaluation helps determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate and what other services or referrals may be useful.

Back pain and stiffness
Neck pain and restricted motion
Headaches associated with neck or posture concerns
Sciatica-like leg symptoms
Shoulder, hip, and other joint discomfort
Postural and movement limitations
Sports and overuse complaints
Work-related strain
Recovery after selected injuries
Chiropractic care is not a substitute for emergency or medically necessary care. When your history or examination suggests another provider or additional testing is more appropriate, we will explain that recommendation.

Your care process

From Evaluation to Personalized Recommendations

Your first visits are designed to clarify the problem before a longer-term care plan is recommended.

1

Listen and evaluate

We discuss your symptoms, health history, activities, prior care, and goals, then examine relevant posture, movement, joint function, and musculoskeletal findings.

2

Explain the findings

Dr. Eric reviews what was found, what may be contributing to the problem, and whether chiropractic care or another option appears appropriate.

3

Build the plan

When care is recommended, the plan may combine adjustments with mobility work, therapeutic exercise, corrective exercise, or lifestyle guidance.

Beyond temporary relief

Supporting Better Movement Over Time

Many people first contact our office because something hurts or feels restricted. Addressing symptoms matters, but we also look at the movement patterns, posture, workload, strength, and habits that may be influencing the problem.

As appropriate, care may progress from hands-on treatment toward active strategies that help you maintain improvements. This can include therapeutic exercise in our office and movement coaching through Functional Life.

There is no single schedule that fits everyone. Visit frequency and duration depend on the problem, examination findings, response to care, and your goals.

Common questions

Chiropractic Care FAQs

Are chiropractic adjustments safe?

Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when provided by a licensed chiropractor after appropriate evaluation. As with any healthcare service, risks and suitability vary. Dr. Eric reviews your health history and discusses relevant considerations before treatment.

Will an adjustment hurt?

Most adjustments are not described as painful, although sensitive or irritated areas may feel temporarily sore. Technique and force can be modified for comfort, age, health history, and examination findings.

Why do joints sometimes make a popping sound?

The sound is commonly related to a pressure change and gas release within the joint. A sound is not required for an adjustment to be effective, and the absence of a pop does not mean nothing happened.

How many visits will I need?

There is no universal number. Recommendations depend on the nature and duration of the problem, your examination findings, goals, and response. We explain the proposed schedule and update it as progress is reviewed.

Will I receive an adjustment on my first visit?

That depends on your history, examination, and whether treatment is appropriate that day. The first priority is understanding the problem and identifying any reason additional evaluation may be needed.

Can chiropractic care be combined with exercise?

Yes. When appropriate, adjustments may be combined with therapeutic exercise, mobility work, corrective exercise, and movement coaching to support function and longer-term progress.

Is chiropractic care covered by insurance?

Coverage varies by plan. Bring your insurance information to your first appointment, and our team can help review available benefits, fees, and payment options.
